Paintings with a Heart for the City in Utrecht City Hall
(
Op   the website of City Hall Utrecht dated December '12)

Visual work inspired by the 'heart of the city'. That's how you could describe the oeuvre of the Utrecht artist Claudia C. ten Hoeve. An exhibition in the town hall is dedicated to Ten Hoeve's recent canvases.

Autodidact Claudia C. ten Hoeve has made paintings in Hoograven for the past 6 years with the motto 'contrast is in the eye of the beholder!' She explains: "In my search for what this city means to me, I looked at the composition of the Utrecht population, based on the diversity of inhabitants who together form the whole, a city in ever-changing composition, a city in constant movement, a city in flux. "

The work '1112 - Heart of the City' was created especially for this exhibition and she made an
object in collaboration with the children of the Da Costaschool Hoograven and with the day visitors of Altrecht - De Es, because "precisely in these times where polarization I would like to show how much richer and more beautiful life, a society, your city can be, not despite, but thanks to the differences. Contrasts unite, unite contrasts!. "

Specially for this exhibition and the associated object City Language the dutch poet Mike Platenkamp has written the following unique poem about this unique city:
